I worked hard to be part of the teaching profession. How do I show
that I am a qualified teaching professional?
Use your professional designation, OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher),
beside your name in your correspondence with parents, caregivers,
potential employers, colleagues, and other recipients to distinguish
yourself as a qualified teaching professional. You’ve earned it!

How do I access College services?
Your member account gives you access to various services such as
printing or downloading your tax receipt and teaching certificate,
updating your personal information and more. The E-Services section on
the College’s website makes it easy to pay your membership fee and
offers several resources for members.

How do I update my information?
Let us know if you have changed your name, contact or employer
information. College bylaws require you to do so within 30 days of any
changes. Visit

Where do I find advice for my professional practice?
The College’s professional advisories provide practical advice that is
designed to support your professional practice. Topics include:

My teaching certificate has a condition. What do I need to
do?

division?
Find an AQ will help you find additional qualification courses that suit
your professional learning goals.

and research options. Does the College have a resource lending
service?
Yes. Log into your member account to access the Margaret Wilson Library.

As a member of the teaching profession, am I held to different
standards?
Yes. Ethical standards, standards of practice and the professional
learning framework describe what it means to be a member of Ontario’s
teaching profession. They articulate the goals and aspirations of the
profession.
The professional misconduct regulation defines what actions,
or failures to act, constitute professional misconduct on the part of
Ontario Certified Teachers.

I want my classroom to look lively, inspiring and reflect my
commitment to professionalism. Any suggestions?

Someone filed a complaint/concern about me. What do I do?
While complaints/concerns against teachers are rare (less than 1%), the
College is responsible for resolving all cases of professional
misconduct.
