You are probably doing what you can to reduce your environmental footprint, right?
So are we.
The College’s member-owned office space at 101 Bloor St. West in Toronto was recently awarded LEED silver certification by the Canadian Green Building Council. The office includes eco-friendly practices consistent with the requirements of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program.
Being environmentally responsible is a high priority for the College. Through the LEED certification program, we are reducing our energy and water consumption as well as operating costs, and reducing our overall environmental footprint. |

Include Aboriginal Perspectives
in Your Practice |
|
|
The College has released a video to enrich your professional practice in incorporating First Nation, Métis and Inuit perspectives into your teaching.
The Knowledge Keepers video profiles an educator on Manitoulin Island who, after years of overcoming life’s challenges, has helped numerous First Nations children receive an education.
The enhanced teacher education program, launching in 2015, includes a deeper focus on Aboriginal traditions and culture. |

The theme of this year’s annual meeting of members, held on October 1, was inclusivity and collaboration.
Keynote speaker Dora Nipp, a human rights education specialist with the Ontario Human Rights Commission, discussed how teaching human rights in the classroom can be a starting point for lifelong learning about inclusion and the value of respecting the dignity and worth of all Ontarians.
