Linda Lacroix, OCT
Registrar & CEO
Linda Lacroix, OCT, is a seasoned educator with more than 30 years of
experience in the education sector, most recently as the College’s
Interim Deputy Registrar. Prior to joining the College as Director of
Investigations & Hearings in 2020, she held several leadership
positions, including, Director, French Language Teaching and Learning
Branch, at the Ministry of Education.
From 2013 to 2018, Linda was the superintendent of education for the Conseil
scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario. During her career, she was a
school principal for 15 years and has been and continues to be a member of
various provincial committees, networks, as well as community-level
ventures.
She serves her community as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the
West Nipissing General Hospital and as Chair of the Health Quality Assurance
Committee for the same hospital.Linda holds a master's in education from the
Université d’Ottawa, and a bachelor’s degree in education
as well as a bachelor of arts from Laurentian University.
Chantal Bélisle, OCT, LL.M.
Deputy Registrar (on self-funded leave)
Chantal Bélisle, OCT, has been employed by the College since 2008 and
has held numerous positions over that timeframe. She has held the position
of Deputy Registrar since April 2020 and served as the Acting Registrar and
CEO from March – December 2022.
Originally starting as an Investigator, Chantal progressed to hold various
roles which included, that of a secondment to the Complaint Resolution
Program, that of a Program Officer in Accreditation and, in 2015, joined the
senior leadership team as Director of Investigations and Hearings.
Chantal is a member of the College and holds Principal as well as
Supervisory Officer Qualifications. In 2013, she completed a Master of Laws
degree with York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School. She also holds
an advanced certificate in dispute resolution and mediation from York
University.
Prior to arriving at the College, Chantal was a teacher for 16 years in
Simcoe County with the catholic as well as the public French language school
boards.
Chantal’s other professional experience includes participation on
initiatives for the Ontario Ministry of Education and as a roster member
with York University’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program.
Jamie Robertson, OCT
Interim Deputy Registrar and Interim Director of POLICY, GOVERNANCE AND TRIBUNALS
Jamie joined the College as Director of Investigations & Hearings in
September 2022 and was appointed to the role of Interim Deputy Registrar in
January 2023.
Jamie arrived at the College with significant experience as a classroom
teacher and administrator in the Ontario and Alberta education systems.
After working as a teacher, department head, and curriculum leader with the
Calgary Board of Education, Jamie moved to Ontario and served as a secondary
school teacher, vice-principal, and principal with the Limestone School
Board (LSB) and the Peel District School Board (PDSB).
Following his in-school experience, Jamie moved on to senior administrative
roles with the PDSB, first as Manager of Human Resources Support Services
and then as Superintendent. Jamie implemented systemwide reforms that
modernized human resources functions including recruitment and hiring,
labour relations, attendance management, and health and safety. As an
executive human resources officer, Jamie represented his school board on
human rights matters, strategic planning, and collective bargaining.
In addition to his career experience, Jamie has been an active member of
several professional associations and networks, including the Ontario
Principal’s Council, the Ontario Public School Boards Association, and
the Peel Association of Administrative Officers. He has also been a member
of United Way Peel’s Campaign Cabinet.
Jamie holds a bachelor of education from the University of Alberta and an MA
in Education Policy and Administrative Studies from the University of
Calgary.
Bill Powell
Director of Corporate Services
Bill Powell joined the College as Manager of Communications in 2014 and was
appointed Director of Corporate Services in January 2023.
Prior to joining the organization, Bill had a long and accomplished career
in strategic communications, and technological and service delivery
innovation in the Canadian aviation industry.
Starting in front-line operations with Canada 3000, Bill progressed to
increasingly senior management positions across the sector, including roles
with Canadian Airlines International, Air Transat, and Air Canada.
Bill worked at Air Canada during a challenging time. While managing diverse
projects associated with many unplanned company-wide operational and
financial crises, he was always able to drive and deliver strategic
initiatives required to promote significant culture change simultaneously
and successfully.
Bill moved on to leadership roles that focused on customer service
innovation, employee engagement, and extensive cost transformation.
Throughout, he continually demonstrated an ability to lead and motivate
high-performing teams. This ability has also defined his work as a key
contributor to the College’s ongoing modernization initiatives.
Bill holds a diploma in business administration, marketing management from
Niagara College.
Demetra Saldaris, OCT
Director of Membership Services
Demetra Saldaris, OCT, is the College’s Director of Membership
Services.
Demetra joined the College in January 2021 as Director of Standards of
Practice and Accreditation. She has successfully led the College’s
department that promotes professional standards and oversees the processes
for accrediting initial and in-service teacher education programs and
additional qualification courses that are available to teachers for ongoing
professional development.
Prior to joining the College, Demetra served as Director of the
Professionalism, Teaching Policy and Standards Branch of the Ontario
Ministry of Education. In this role, she provided direction to staff and
management in work that dovetails with that of the College. In this role,
Demetra was the Ministry's primary contact with the College and led the
successful introduction of regulatory and legislative amendments, teacher
professional development programs, and numerous education-related policies.
This experience included work across the education sector and with key
stakeholders. Beyond that, Demetra is a highly experienced educator and
leader at the classroom, school, board, and provincial levels, both
elementary and secondary.
Saldaris holds a bachelor of education and MA from Western University, as
well as Principal and Supervisory Officer qualifications.
Jean-François Schaan
Acting Director of Investigations and Professional Conduct
Anna-Marie Nielsen, OCT
Director of Standards of Practice and Accreditation
Anna-Marie Nielsen, OCT, is the College’s Director of Standards of
Practice and Accreditation.
Anna-Marie joined the College’s Accreditation Unit as a Bilingual
Program Officer in 2015, during the transition to the four-semester initial
teacher education program. Later, as Manager of the Accreditation Unit, she
demonstrated continued leadership by guiding her team through accreditation
reviews of more than fifty initial teacher education programs across
Ontario.
Prior to joining the College, and informed by her academic background in
science, Anna-Marie worked as a Curriculum Developer and Pedagogical
Reviewer in elementary mathematics for the Ministry of Education. In
addition, she was a curriculum consultant in such diverse areas as science,
numeracy, instructional technology, and environmental education. She has
also worked as a math content reviewer for the Education Quality and
Accountability Office and acquired rich classroom experience teaching
students from kindergarten to Grade 12.
From 2005-2006, Anna-Marie facilitated courses on patterning and algebraic
reasoning as a visiting lecturer at James Cook University’s Faculty of
Education. She has also developed and taught online Additional
Qualifications courses for providers in Canada and the U.S.
Anna-Marie is also an experienced presenter who has represented the College
at several conferences and is currently Vice-Chair of the Association of
Accrediting Agencies of Canada.
