1. Call to Order/Welcome

Marilyn Laframboise, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. and welcomed all present.

It was moved by Patrick Daly, seconded by Pauline Demers, and

That the Agenda for the November 20, 2003 Special Council meeting be approved.

3.1 Appointment to fill Council Vacancy for the French-language Roman Catholic — Secondary Position (GC20031120-131)

Marilyn Laframboise, Chair, advised that this Special Council teleconference meeting was being held to appoint a member to fill the Council vacancy for the French-Language Roman Catholic - Secondary position and that the Executive Committee had already dealt with the matter.

The report of the Nomination Committee was received. Nancy Hutcheson, Chair, spoke to the report and advised that the Executive Committee had endorsed Anne Vinet-Roy as the successful candidate.

It was moved by Nancy Hutcheson, seconded by Diane Leblovic, and

CARRIED,

That Council appoint Anne Vinet-Roy to fill the vacancy for the French-language Roman Catholic Board — Secondary category.

Roll Call Vote:

Marilyn Laframboise advised that the other candidates for this position would be informed of the decision.

Nancy Hutcheson advised that Ms Vinet-Roy would be invited to an orientation session as soon as possible. A questionnaire will be sent to Council members regarding committee vacancies and elected members were requested to fill out the forms by December 3, 2003. A Nomination Committee meeting will be held prior to the Council meeting and recommendations prepared.

The Chair thanked everyone for participating in the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
