1. Call to Order/Welcome

The Chair, Liz Papadopoulos, called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. and spoke to the operator-assisted teleconference procedures for the meeting.

It was agreed that one-half day preparation time would be claimed for the meeting.

A roll call was taken to establish attendance.

2. Agenda (GC20140121-01)

4. Business

4.1 Enhanced Teacher Education Program - Consequential Amendments to the Teachers' Qualifications Regulation (GC20140121-2C)

The Registrar, Michael Salvatori and the Director of Standards of Practice and Accreditation, Michelle Longlade, walked Council members through a plain-language explanatory document outlining the proposed changes to Regulation 176/10. Additional background on each area for amendment was offered as well as a mapping document to highlight the impact on individuals who may be applying to the College for certification under varied circumstances. A question and answer period ensued after each section.

The final content of the regulation was available for Council member review (GC20140121-02C, attachment 1, Revised).

It was moved by Liz Papadopoulos, seconded by Monika Ferenczy, and

CARRIED,

That Council recommend to the Minister of Education that the registration and certification amendments to the Teachers' Qualifications Regulation regarding the enhanced teacher education program as outlined in document GC20140121- 02C, attachment 1, Revised be approved.
