Public Interest Committee
The Ontario government has appointed former Council member Gail Lilley and Newmarket’s Anne Secord-Houston to the College's Public Interest Committee (PIC). The committee will advise Council regarding its duty to serve and protect the public interest in carrying out the College’s objects.
The government amended the Ontario College of Teachers Act in July 2006 to create the PIC as a new College committee. The committee is expected to report annually to Council prior to the annual general meeting. The appointments are for one year.
