See Ontario’s young artists’ œuvres

Each student in the French Immersion Senior Kindergarten class at Morse Street Junior Public School in Toronto had a hand in painting the work pictured here. It’s displayed with other student artwork on our 15th Floor Art Wall for the enjoyment of our members, public and staff. Interested in having your students’ artwork displayed? Please contact mnair@oct.ca.

See our Facebook page for more photos from our Art Wall.

Eradicating racism

January 20th was Martin Luther King Day in the U.S., named in honour of one of the world’s recognized leaders in efforts to end racism and increase social justice. Watch for our history of segregated schools in Ontario in the March 2014 issue of Professionally Speaking as we continue to advance Dr. King’s dream.

Deep freeze coping skills (contest!)

How are you and your students embracing winter? What do you do at recess or during those 20 minutes of daily physical activity when it’s too cold to go outside? Let us know! The College supports members in their ongoing professional learning in this area through the AQ and ABQ in Health and Physical Education. Send a photo, video or poem for your chance to win a Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker and to have your creation posted on our Facebook page. Winners will be selected at random and three of the most creative entries will be posted on our Facebook page.

Send your entry to news@oct.ca.

Congratulations!
