Re-applying

You may not need to re-apply.

If your status on Find a Teacher is Suspended – non-payment of fees or Retired, you can reinstate by going to Pay your membership fee online.

You will need to pay the reinstatement fee ($130) and the annual membership fee ($138) for a total of $268.

You should re-apply if you:

  • have an expired Ontario teaching certificate
  • have a cancelled Ontario teaching certificate
  • resigned from the College (for other than disciplinary reasons).

To re-apply, go to Apply Now, select the appropriate registration guide – General Education if you teach academic subjects, for example – and follow the directions.

The system will display the information that the College already has on file for you, including transcripts and other qualifications information, which we will use to evaluate your application. You should update your record with any new degrees or additional professional education courses you have taken.

If your teaching certificate has been suspended or cancelled by the Minister of Education or has been revoked by the College, or if you resigned from the College for disciplinary reasons, you cannot apply online. You should call the College’s Investigations and Hearings Department at 416-961-8800 or 1-888-534-2222 toll free in Ontario.
